High School Alumni Hockey Game 2024

Coming up on Saturday, March 2, 2024 is the annual High School Alumni hockey Game between the former Windsor Warlords and the Hants West Flames. Game time is 2:00 pm at the John Paris Rink at the West Hants Sports Complex. The game is being sponsored by the Windsor Hockey Heritage Society and the Citizens Cup is up for grabs. Admission is by a donation to the Windsor Food Bank. For further information contact Stan Kochanoff at 902-456-2773.

 

The Citizens Trophy was awarded to the winner of the Windsor Town League, the first league to be arranged in the province. By 1900 the town competition had four teams vying for the trophy. The Windsor Avonians won it three years in a row from 1900-1902, thus earning it permanently. The trophy is now on display at the Birthplace of Hockey Museum.
