Birthplace of Hockey displays at West Hants Sports Complex in Windsor, Nova Scotia
The Birthplace of Hockey Museum, located in the historic Haliburton House Museum, is closed for the season. It is slated to reopen in June 2022. Until then, you can check out our Birthplace of Hockey displays at the newly built West Hants Sports Complex for a dose of hockey history. It is located on Centennial Drive adjacent to the old Exhibition Arena, in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
These Birthplace of Hockey displays have a focus on community, with an emphasis on local players and teams. They will be of interest even to those who have no interest in hockey. The lobby displays (shown above) feature six categories:
- the Birthplace of Hockey story;
- the museum;
- Black and Indigenous contributions;
- women’s hockey;
- local players and teams;
- Nova Scotia players and teams.
If you’re in the downtown Windsor area and have time, swing by, even between your errands! The displays are compact and won’t take you a long time to view. If take in a game in the Sports Complex be sure to check out our displays between periods.
